Clean Out your Closet
“I like my money right where I can see it….hanging in my closet”
Are you also like Carrie Bradshaw ?
Keep saying “I have nothing to wear” yet your closet is brimming with clothes?
Yeah, it’s time to clean your closet! But don’t panic!
All you need is a day, simple tools and some good music.
Here are some life saver tips to clean out your closet and keep it organized.
1. Keep your closet seasonal.
Very simple, in summer you want to see summer clothes and so on. The rest just store it.
2. Arrange your clothing by category.
Group all outerwear together, all tops together, all pants together….this will make it very simple when looking for a certain blouse or bag.
3. Keep your shoes visible. If you can’t see it, you won’t wear it.
4.Color coordinating your handbags.
Group your handbags and clutches and organize them by color, it will be much more easy to find them.
5. Avoid double-hanging items.
You won’t find the things you need and if you can’ t see it, again you won’t wear it.
6. Invest in the right hangers.
Avoid wire and plastic hangers because they can deform your clothing. Go for a thin and sleek or velvet style that will save very valuable closet space.
7. Set a cut-off date.
If you haven’t worn it in the last year, get rid of it (friends, charity associations or exchange at the swap party)
Major exceptions: investment pieces (store it), great vintage (again, store it) or sentimental clothes (store it).
